Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, or Premium subscription owners can now use Copilot at work in a secure and compliant way. This is helpful if you don’t have a Microsoft 365 Copilot add-on license at work, but still want access to Copilot features with your work files in apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
File access is tied to your work account. This ensures enterprise data protection for files in your organization, regardless of which account grants Copilot access.
Note: Policy controls set by your organization’s IT admin are maintained. This means admins can disable Copilot usage through personal Microsoft 365 subscriptions on work content via cloud policy, applicable to some or all users. All Copilot actions are auditable, and enterprise identity, permissions, and compliance policies remain in effect, so IT can monitor and manage usage as needed.Admins wanting to learn more about how multiple accounts work in their organization, see Multiple account access to Copilot for work and school documents.
